Umi is a beacon of hope and support in our community, offering programs to youth and who need them most. The golden hours of 3-6 PM, known as dangerous peak times for teens to fall into crime, substance abuse, and victimhood, are transformed into opportunities for growth and learning. In these key moments - after school hours, on weekends, and during school breaks – when they are most vulnerable, Umi stands as a guardian. Offering a blend of opportunities and engagment experiences, Umi serves as a guiding light. Umi serves as a much-needed pillar of support, a catalyst for change, and a provider of opportunities to those who need them most.
